ABOUT US
SMA was established to provide the highest levels of care and monitoring for sedation and general anaesthesia delivered on site at health professionals' clinics. We come to you! Mobile anaesthesia is the next exciting evolution in the practice of anaesthesia with the intention of alleviating pain, anxiety and discomfort in this setting. It also allows performing procedures that would not be possible without anaesthesia

Anaesthetists are specialist medical doctors who have specifically trained to understand the complex interaction of a patient’s medical history, the procedure they have to undergo and the effect that anaesthetic medication will have both during the procedure and for their recovery.
Anaesthesia is a state of unconsciousness that removes the perception of the senses and allows painful or uncomfortable procedures to be completed without recollection of the events. This state of unconsciousness is monitored and maintained by an anaesthetist throughout the procedure. Anaesthetists working within Australia and New Zealand are trained to the highest standards and are highly regarded worldwide as some of the best. As such, modern anaesthesia within Australia and New Zealand is very safe.
Sedation is an altered state of consciousness in which a person is able to respond purposefully to verbal commands or light touch. The purpose of sedation is to produce a state of relaxation and reduce anxiety. Despite being able to respond to verbal or tactile cues, patients are often not able to remember events taking place while sedated.
